Ask and you shall receive....my daily makeup!

I can't tell you how many times I get complimented on how great my skin looks. My reply is always " I wear good makeup!". I wear full coverage makeup everyday that I am "going out" (work, dates etc...). I have never had a problem with acne ( I still get blemishes), so in that aspect I have been blessed. But my skin is far from perfect. I have red blotchy skin...so in other words I have NORMAL skin.

I read an interview from a professional makeup artist, he said something that has stuck with me through out the years. He said " Whatever your "it" make up is, that's what you invest in. If your "it" make up is mascara, being you always have to wear mascara, then buy the $30 mascara.

My "it" makeup is my base.......I have found that by investing in more expensive products for my base makeup, I have actually felt my skin to be healthier.

These are the products that I use to create my base:

Make sure to start with a clean and moisturized face....

SMASHBOX Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer ($38):
*By using a primer it helps your foundation stay the entire day. *
*Using your hands  rub a "pea" size amount all over face and eyelids.*
CLINIQUE Line Smoothing Concealer in shade- 02 Light ($17):
*Use concealer to cover dark spots, blemishes, and dark circle under eyes.*
* I prefer to use my fingers to apply. I gently pat concealer over problem areas until blended. Try not to over blend. I normally use my finger to apply under the eye. I do use a concealer brush also : SEPHORA concealer  brush #45 ($24)

LANCOME Teint Idole Ultra 24H in shade #140 Ivoire(n) ($45):
* Shine free, No retouching necessary, full coverage*
* I used a brush ( SIGMA Flat Kabuki-F80-$29) to apply a quarter size amount. I use my hand as a  palette for the foundation. I section my face off into left side, right side, forehead, chin/nose/middle. Pick a side to start with. Start from the inside of your face and work outwards. I use small circular motions until I have blended the foundation out towards the hair line. After my face is done I apply whatever is leftover down my neck and collar bone/chest.*

HARD CANDY so baked bronzer (bottom) #131 Hula Hula and Blush Crush Baked Blush # 126 Pin up ($6):
* I use both of these for contouring. Contouring is making certain features stand out. You would normally use this for your cheek and jaw bones. *
* If you do a fish face you can see your cheek bones. You want to apply the bronzer on your cheek bones going up into the hair line. Also, apply bronzer following your jaw bone. The darker you make it the more dramatic the features become. You can always blend it out if you apply to much.*

NARS blush in Mata Hari ($28), I also love Orgasm.
* Blush helps give your face some color, makes your eyes pop*
* Use 2 fingers to measure away from your nose. Apply using a fluffy blush brush on the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards. *
TARTE smooth operator clay finishing powder- translucent powder:
* By using a powder it helps set your foundation. Powder also helps prevent a shiny face through out the day. By using a translucent powder it doesn't add color to your already foundation colored face.*
* Its important to remember that a little powder goes a long ways. Using a fluffy powder brush apply all over face, neck, and chest.*
So there you have it! The process seems like a lot of steps but once you get a routine it goes by fast.

I just want to note that you can get the same results with products made by Cover Girl, Maybelline, L'Oreal etc....
Its all about how you apply the products and making sure you have the main elements. Some of my favorite products are made by cover girl and L'Oreal. Im not a total makeup snob. LOL

Well I hope that you enjoyed the post....maybe it will help or maybe you think I'm crazy, but it was fun for me either way!
